Improve Your Workplace English is a consulting company that provides English language and work-culture training to internationally-educated professionals to help them improve their business communication skills and advance in their careers.
This training can be provided on-site or online and on a one-on-one or small group basis.
The rate depends on the distance traveled, if on-site training is provided, as well as the number of hours of training and the resources (textbooks, other materials) provided. It can be negotiated with the client.
A customized assessment will be conducted at the first meeting with the client, and a personalized work plan will be developed.
About the instructor: I am a native Canadian and fully-qualified professional business English coach with ten years’ experience teaching ESL and ELT (Enhanced Language Training) to international students and internationally-educated professionals. I have taught courses to internationally-educated professionals and international students at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College/Institute and other organizations.
In addition, I have two business degrees from Queen’s University and the Schulich School of Business (York University) and 15 years of business experience in several different business environments.
My business background has given me a strong understanding of Canadian workplace culture and an appreciation of the language and other issues internationally educated professionals (“IEPs”) encounter in the workplace.
I have worked with a number of IEP clients and their companies, including engineers and an IT specialist. My clients have told me that their confidence and ability to write business documents and communicate with co-workers has increased significantly as a result.
